TdT Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
Exclusive Distributor of Talent Biomedical in Iran
The TdT (Terminal deoxynucleotidyl Transferase) Antibody is an essential diagnostic marker for
precursor lymphoid neoplasms. TdT is a nuclear DNA polymerase expressed in immature B and T lymphoblasts.
As a result, it plays a key role in generating antigen receptor diversity.
In addition, TdT is widely used in immunohistochemistry to distinguish acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
and lymphoblastic lymphoma (LBL) from other hematologic malignancies.
Therefore, it provides valuable diagnostic information for hematopathology.
🔬 Features and Benefits
- Specific marker for immature lymphoid cells
- Distinct brown nuclear staining in positive cells
- Helps differentiate ALL and LBL from mature neoplasms
- Compatible with all standard IHC procedures
- Excellent stability with an 18-month shelf life at 2–8 °C
⚙️ Principle of the Assay
During the IHC process, the primary TdT antibody binds directly to its nuclear antigen.
Next, an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody attaches to the primary antibody.
Finally, the DAB chromogen reacts with this complex and produces a brown nuclear stain.
Consequently, the stain confirms TdT expression.
💡 Diagnostic Applications
- Diagnosis of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
- Detection of Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (LBL)
- Differentiation of precursor versus mature lymphoid neoplasms
- Research on lymphocyte development and antigen diversity
