CD7 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The CD7 Antibody is a key immunohistochemical marker used to identify T-cell neoplasms and related disorders.
CD7 is a 40-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein, a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed early during T-cell development. It is present on thymocytes, mature peripheral T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and some lymphoid and myeloid progenitors.
Anti-CD7 antibody is a valuable diagnostic tool for detecting T-cell lymphomas and leukemias, and for differentiating immune-related neoplasms.
🔬 Features and Benefits
-
T-cell specific marker: Detects T-cell lineage and differentiates from other immune cells
-
Clear membrane staining: Brown coloration on the membrane of positive cells
-
Wide diagnostic utility: Essential in identifying T-cell lymphomas and leukemias
-
Compatible with standard IHC protocols: Suitable for both clinical and research laboratories
-
Excellent stability: Reliable performance at 2–8 °C for 18 months
⚙️ Principle of the Assay
During the IHC process, the CD7 antibody binds to the target antigen on the surface of T cells. The HRP-conjugated secondary antibody then binds to the primary antibody, forming the antigen–antibody–HRP complex. The addition of DAB chromogen produces a brown insoluble stain on the membrane of positive cells, confirming antigen expression.
💡 Diagnostic Applications
-
Detection of T-cell lymphomas and leukemias
-
Differentiation of immune system neoplasms
-
Research on T-cell and NK-cell development
-
Evaluation of lymphoproliferative disorders
