Galectin-3 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry) – Talent Biomedical
Exclusive Representative in Iran: Fardad Azma Rad Co.
The Galectin-3 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry) is an essential marker widely used in
pathology and molecular diagnostics. It is especially important for distinguishing benign from malignant
thyroid lesions and is also used in the evaluation of breast and colon carcinomas.
What Is Galectin-3?
Galectin-3 is a β-galactoside-binding lectin with a molecular weight of 30 kDa. It plays a role in cell
growth, adhesion, inflammation, mRNA regulation, and apoptosis. Overexpression of Galectin-3 is commonly
associated with malignant transformation and tumor metastasis in thyroid, breast, and colon tissues.
How This Antibody Works
In immunohistochemistry (IHC), Galectin-3 shows positive staining in the cytoplasm and/or
nucleus of cells. Using the DAB chromogenic method, this antibody provides clear, strong, and
reproducible staining results, making it highly suitable for pathology laboratories.
