🧪 c-Myc Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)

The c-Myc Antibody is a key immunohistochemical marker used for detecting c-Myc oncogene expression, a transcription factor located on chromosome 8q24.
c-Myc plays essential roles in cell cycle progression, apoptosis, cellular transformation, and angiogenesis. Overexpression or amplification of this gene has been associated with various cancers, including colorectal, prostatic, thyroid, pulmonary, gastric, breast, ovarian, and hematopoietic neoplasms.

This antibody is highly useful in identifying epithelial and hematologic tumors and supports oncologic molecular research.

🔬 Features and Benefits

  • Strong oncogenic marker: Detects abnormal c-Myc expression in tumor nuclei

  • Clear nuclear staining: Brown coloration in positive nuclei

  • Molecular oncology relevance: Ideal for studying tumor growth and metastasis

  • Compatible with standard IHC protocols

  • Stable performance: 18-month shelf life at 2–8 °C

⚙️ Principle of the Assay

The primary antibody binds to nuclear c-Myc antigen. The HRP-conjugated secondary antibody forms the antigen–antibody–HRP complex, which reacts with DAB chromogen to produce brown staining in positive nuclei.

💡 Diagnostic Applications

  • Identification of epithelial and hematologic neoplasms

  • Evaluation of c-Myc overexpression in breast, prostate, lung, and gastric cancers

  • Research on apoptosis and cell cycle regulation
