Bob.1 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry) – Talent Biomedical
Exclusive Distributor in Iran: Fardad Azma Rad Co.
Pathologists use the Bob.1 Antibody to identify B-cell lineage in lymphoid tissues.
This antibody, also called Oct-binding factor-1 (OBF-1), acts as a B-cell–specific coactivator.
As a result, it helps detect B-lineage lymphomas such as Plasmablastic Lymphoma and Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL).
In addition, Bob.1 becomes even more informative when combined with CD79a and Cyclin E.
Therefore, it helps distinguish Classical Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (CHL) from Primary Mediastinal Large B-Cell Lymphoma (PMBCL).

Clinical Significance
Bob.1 acts as a transcriptional coactivator that regulates gene expression during B-cell differentiation.
Moreover, its evaluation helps pathologists distinguish B-cell lymphomas from T-cell lymphomas.
It also supports accurate classification of lymphoid malignancies when used with markers such as CD79a, CD20, and PAX5.
Assay Principle
During the IHC procedure, the primary Bob.1 antibody binds directly to its nuclear antigen.
Next, a secondary HRP-conjugated antibody attaches to the primary antibody.
Finally, the DAB chromogen reacts with the complex and forms a brown nuclear stain, which confirms Bob.1 expression in the tissue.
