Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar(VRBG agar)

Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar یک محیط کشت انتخابی و تفریقی است که برای شناسایی و جداسازی باکتری‌های گرم منفی، به خصوص سول‌هایای (coliforms) نظير ای کولای (E. coli)، طراحی شده است.
این محیط حاوی رنگ‌های رز و بایلیک است که مانع رشد باکتری‌های غیرمربوط می‌شود و در عین حال، باکتری‌های لاکتوز‌فروژن و برخی دیگر، روی محیط تغییر رنگ می‌دهند.
این محیط برای تشخیص کلیت‌ها و بررسی نفوذپذیری باکتری‌ها در نمونه‌های آب، مواد غذایی، و نمونه‌های بالینی بسیار کاربردی است.

Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (VRBG) is a selective and differential medium designed mainly for isolating and identifying coliform bacteria, especially Escherichia coli. It contains bile salts, crystal violet, and glucose, which inhibit the growth of Gram-positive bacteria and select for Gram-negative bacteria. Lactose fermenters like E. coli produce colored colonies due to acid production that changes the color of the medium. It is widely used for water testing, food safety analysis, and clinical microbiology to detect fecal contamination and pathogenic bacteria.
