WT-1 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The WT-1 (Wilms Tumor 1) Antibody is an important IHC marker. It helps identify
mesothelial, ovarian, renal, and several sarcomatous tumors.
In addition, WT-1 is a 52–54 kDa nuclear transcription factor involved in the development and survival
of mesodermal and epithelial cells.
Moreover, WT-1 expression appears in mesothelial cells, ovarian serous carcinomas, fetal kidneys,
and some sarcomatoid tumors. As a result, it becomes a key marker for distinguishing
malignant mesothelioma from metastatic adenocarcinoma.
Therefore, WT-1 plays a central role in diagnostic pathology.
