SATB-2 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The SATB-2 Antibody is a highly specific immunohistochemical marker widely used for identifying
colorectal and appendiceal adenocarcinomas and distinguishing them from metastatic tumors of other origins.
SATB-2 (Special AT-rich Sequence-Binding Protein 2) is a
nuclear matrix-associated transcription factor involved in regulating gene expression in
neuronal and intestinal epithelial cells.
In diagnostic pathology, SATB-2 is especially valuable for detecting
colorectal carcinoma, appendiceal neoplasms, and certain
bone-related tumors (e.g., osteosarcoma).
Positive IHC staining appears as
distinct brown nuclear coloration.
When combined with CK20 and CDX2, SATB-2 significantly improves diagnostic accuracy.
🔬 Features and Benefits
- Highly specific marker for colorectal adenocarcinoma
- Distinct nuclear brown staining
- Differentiates colorectal tumors from metastatic carcinomas
- Can be used alongside CK20 and CDX2 for increased precision
- Excellent stability: 18-month shelf life at 2–8 °C
💡 Diagnostic Applications
- Detection of colorectal and appendiceal adenocarcinomas
- Differentiation from ovarian, pancreatic, and pulmonary carcinomas
- Identification of SATB-2 expression in bone-related tumors
- Research on gene transcription and cell differentiation
