AMACR / p504s Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The AMACR (Alpha-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase) antibody, also known as p504s,
is a highly specific and sensitive IHC marker. It helps identify prostatic adenocarcinoma
and clearly differentiates malignant lesions from benign prostate tissues.
In addition, AMACR is a 42 kDa peroxisomal and mitochondrial enzyme involved in the β-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids.
Moreover, AMACR is strongly overexpressed in prostate cancer cells compared with benign glands.
As a result, it serves as an excellent positive diagnostic marker in routine immunohistochemistry.
Therefore, when used together with basal cell markers such as p63 or 34βE12,
AMACR significantly increases diagnostic accuracy in prostate cancer evaluation.
