CD68 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The CD68 Antibody is a key immunohistochemical marker widely used to identify macrophages and monocytes in tissue sections.
CD68 (Macrosialin) is a heavily glycosylated transmembrane protein expressed on plasma membranes, endosomal, and lysosomal membranes of monocyte/macrophage lineage cells.
It plays an essential role in phagocytosis, innate immunity, and tissue homeostasis.
In IHC staining, CD68 shows brown cytoplasmic positivity in macrophages, making it a useful diagnostic marker for histiocytic disorders, granulomatous lesions, and macrophage-rich tumors.
