CD5 Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)
The CD5 Antibody is a widely used
pan-T cell marker that also reacts with certain neoplastic B cells.
CD5 is a transmembrane glycoprotein involved in regulating
T- and B-cell activation, immune signaling, and tolerance.
In diagnostic pathology, CD5 is essential for distinguishing
mature T-cell neoplasms and
small B-cell lymphoid malignancies.
Positive cells show distinct membranous brown staining.
CD5 is commonly expressed in
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL),
Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL), and
T-cell Lymphomas.
🔬 Features and Benefits CD5 Antibody
- Specific marker for mature T-cells and selected B-cell neoplasms
- Distinct membranous brown staining pattern
- Helps differentiate CLL and MCL from other small B-cell lymphomas
- Compatible with standard IHC protocols
- Excellent stability: 18-month shelf life at 2–8 °C
💡 Diagnostic Applications
- Detection of T-cell lymphomas
- Identification of CLL/SLL and Mantle Cell Lymphoma
- Differentiation of reactive lymphoid hyperplasia from malignant conditions
- Research on immune regulation and lymphoid marker profiling
