Pathologists use the CD43 Antibody to detect CD43, a transmembrane sialoglycoprotein found in
T lymphocytes, monocytes, and granulocytes.
CD43 contributes to cell adhesion and T-cell activation.
As a result, it plays an important role in the evaluation of lymphoid tissues.

In addition, CD43 normally remains absent in B cells.
However, some T-cell lymphomas and a few low-grade B-cell lymphomas show CD43 expression.
Therefore, this antibody helps distinguish T-cell neoplasms from B-cell neoplasms.
