CD1a Antibody (Immunohistochemistry) – Talent Biomedical

Exclusive Distributor in Iran: Fardad Azma Rad Co.

Pathologists use the CD1a Antibody to detect CD1a expression in tissue samples.
CD1a belongs to the MHC-like glycoprotein family and partners with β2-microglobulin to present lipid antigens.
As a result, the antibody helps assess hematologic disorders and lymphoproliferative diseases.

In addition, CD1a appears in thymic cortical cells, Langerhans cells, and dendritic cells.
Therefore, identifying CD1a expression plays a key role in diagnosing Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH)
and precursor T-lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia.

Features and Benefits

  • High specificity and sensitivity for CD1a antigen
  • Clear brown membrane staining
  • Compatible with standard IHC protocols
  • Reliable performance at 2–8 °C
  • Suitable for clinical and research immunopathology

Principle of the Assay

During the IHC procedure, the primary CD1a antibody binds directly to the target antigen.
Next, an HRP-conjugated secondary antibody attaches to the primary antibody.
Finally, the DAB chromogen reacts with this complex and produces a brown membrane stain.
Consequently, the staining confirms the presence of CD1a in the sample.

Diagnostic Applications

  • Detection of Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH)
  • Diagnosis of precursor T-lymphoblastic lymphoma/leukemia
  • Identification of Langerhans and dendritic cells
  • Research applications in immunology and hematopathology
