CD117 (c-Kit) Antibody (Immunohistochemistry)

The CD117 (c-Kit) Antibody is an essential immunohistochemical marker used primarily in the diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GISTs) and other c-Kit–expressing neoplasms.
CD117 is the gene product of the c-kit proto-oncogene and functions as a transmembrane tyrosine kinase receptor. It interacts with its ligand, stem cell factor (SCF), and plays vital roles in hematopoiesis, melanogenesis, and gametogenesis.

This marker is expressed on endothelial cells, mast cells, megakaryocytes, hematopoietic stem cells, and melanoblasts.
In IHC staining, CD117 shows distinct brown cytoplasmic and membranous positivity, providing strong diagnostic value for GIST, mast cell disease, and myeloid neoplasms.
